TLDR; PROJECT SUMMARY AI BETA
Folding@home is using computers to simulate proteins from the COVID-19 virus. This helps scientists understand how these proteins work and find potential drug targets. The project focuses on the main protease, a key enzyme in the virus's life cycle. Stay up-to-date at https://foldingathome.org/news/

CORONAVIRUS PROJECT These projects are part of Folding@home’s efforts to assist researchers around the world taking up the global fight against COVID-19.
At the time of release, this is the latest news update: https://foldingathome.org/2020/03/10/covid19-update/ These projects are CPU projects to simulate COVID-19 proteins to learn about their dynamics and function.
These supplement high-priority GPU projects of the main protease as well as the COVID-19 receptor binding domains.
All can be considered potential drug targets.
Please stay tuned to https://foldingathome.org/news/ for more current updates.
ALL of these projects are Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 main protease in complex with a potential inhibitor:

RELATED TERMS GLOSSARY AI BETA
CORONAVIRUS
A type of virus that causes respiratory illness.
Coronavirus is a family of viruses that can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases like SARS and MERS. The most recent coronavirus outbreak, caused by SARS-CoV-2, led to the COVID-19 pandemic.
COVID-19
Coronavirus disease 2019
COVID-19 is the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. It can cause a range of symptoms, from mild to severe, and has had a significant global impact.
SARS-CoV-2
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2
SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that causes COVID-19. It is a type of coronavirus that can spread through respiratory droplets.
Proteins
Large biomolecules essential for many biological functions.
Proteins are complex molecules made up of amino acids. They play a vital role in nearly all cellular processes, including growth, repair, and metabolism.
Drug Targets
Molecules or pathways that are potential targets for drug action.
Drug targets are specific molecules or biological processes that pharmaceutical companies aim to inhibit or modulate to treat diseases. Identifying and targeting these molecules is crucial in developing new drugs.
