TLDR; PROJECT SUMMARY AI BETA
This project studies how certain proteins (GPCRs) change shape. These proteins are involved in diseases like diabetes and high blood pressure. By understanding how they work, scientists can develop better drugs to treat these conditions. The focus is on a group of GPCRs called Class B receptors, including those for glucagon, GLP-1, parathyroid hormone, pituitary adenylyl cyclase, and secretin.

G-Protein Coupled Receptors: G-Protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are membrane proteins involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, etc.
Here, we are trying to study the conformational dynamics of the Glucagon Receptor, Glucagon-like Peptide 1 receptor, PArathyroid Hormone Receptor, Pituitary Adenlyate Cyclase Receptor and Secretin Receptor - All Class B GPCRs.
These studies will help in designing better drugs that target these receptors.

The Glucagon-like Peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R) is a protein that responds to the hormone GLP-1. This hormone helps regulate blood sugar levels and promotes feelings of fullness after eating. Medications targeting GLP-1R are used to treat type 2 diabetes.
PArathyroid Hormone Receptor
Parathyroid Hormone Receptor (PTHr)
The Parathyroid Hormone Receptor is a protein that responds to parathyroid hormone (PTH). PTH regulates calcium levels in the body. Medications targeting this receptor are used to treat conditions like hypercalcemia.
Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide
A peptide hormone that activates adenylate cyclase.
Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide (PACAP) is a hormone produced in the pituitary gland. It stimulates various cellular processes, including those involved in regulating heart rate, blood pressure, and inflammation.
Secretin Receptor
A receptor protein that binds to the hormone secretin.
The Secretin Receptor is a protein found on various cells in the body. It responds to the hormone secretin, which plays a role in regulating digestion and pancreatic function.
