This project looks at how certain proteins on our cells change shape. These proteins are involved in things like diabetes and high blood pressure. By understanding how they work, scientists hope to create better medicines that target these conditions.

G-Protein Coupled Receptors: G-Protein coupled receptors (GPCRs) are membrane proteins involved in the pathogenesis of diabetes, high blood proessure, skin cancer, osteoporosis, etc.
Here, we are trying to studying the conformational dynamics of Glucagon Receptor, Glucagon-like Peptide 1 receptor, PArathyroid Hormone Receptor, Pituitary Adenlyate Cyclase Receptor and Secretin Receptor - All Class B GPCRs.
These studies will help in designing better drugs that target these receptors.

G-Protein Coupled Receptors
G-Protein coupled receptors (GPCRs)
G-Protein Coupled Receptors are a large family of cell surface proteins that play a crucial role in transmitting signals from outside the cell to the inside. They are involved in a wide range of biological processes, including sensory perception, hormone action, and immune responses. GPCRs are important drug targets for many diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.
Glucagon Receptor
A protein receptor that binds to glucagon and initiates signaling pathways.
The Glucagon Receptor is a type of G-Protein Coupled Receptor found on the surface of liver cells. When glucagon binds to this receptor, it triggers a series of events that lead to the release of glucose into the bloodstream. This helps regulate blood sugar levels.
Glucagon-like Peptide 1 Receptor
GLP-1 receptor
The Glucagon-like Peptide 1 Receptor (GLP-1R) is a type of G-Protein Coupled Receptor found on various cells in the body. When GLP-1 binds to this receptor, it stimulates insulin release from pancreatic beta cells, suppresses glucagon secretion, and slows gastric emptying. This helps regulate blood sugar levels and has therapeutic potential for treating type 2 diabetes.
Parathyroid Hormone Receptor
PTH receptor
The Parathyroid Hormone Receptor (PTHr) is a G-Protein Coupled Receptor found on various cells in the body. When parathyroid hormone binds to this receptor, it stimulates calcium release from bone, increases calcium reabsorption in the kidneys, and activates vitamin D synthesis. This helps regulate calcium levels in the blood.
Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide Receptor
PACAP receptor
The Pituitary Adenylate Cyclase Activating Polypeptide Receptor (PACAPr) is a G-Protein Coupled Receptor involved in various physiological processes. It mediates the effects of PACAP, a neuropeptide that plays roles in stress response, neurotransmission, and immune modulation.
Secretin Receptor
A protein receptor that binds to secretin and triggers the release of bicarbonate from the pancreas.
The Secretin Receptor is a G-Protein Coupled Receptor found on cells in the pancreas. When secretin binds to this receptor, it stimulates the release of bicarbonate-rich fluid into the duodenum. This helps neutralize acidic chyme coming from the stomach and creates an optimal environment for digestion.
