This project relates to Ste2, a protein important for how fungi live. Ste2 is part of a group of proteins that can be targeted by medicines. Because we don't know much about how Ste2 works, this study aims to learn more about it so we can better understand and treat fungal infections.

Class D GPCR Ste2 Ste2 is a transmembrane protein of the Class D of G-Protein Coupled Receptors.
These receptors exist as dimers and are important target for understanding the physiological functioning of fungi.
While pivotal for survival, these receptors provide a useful platform for the development of antifungal medications, which can be useful as therapy in human-targeting fungal infections.
The lack of dynamical insights into the function of these proteins is what prompted the emergence of this study.
