This project looks at Ste2, a protein important for fungi to survive. It exists in pairs and could be used to develop new antifungal medicines. Since we don't know how Ste2 works, scientists are studying it to understand its function better.

Class D GPCR Ste2 Ste2 is a transmembrane protein of the Class D of G-Protein Coupled Receptors.
These receptors exist as dimers and are important target for understanding the physiological functioning of fungi.
While pivotal for survival, these receptors provide a useful platform for the development of antifungal medications, which can be useful as therapy in human-targeting fungal infections.
The lack of dynamical insights into the function of these proteins is what prompted the emergence of this study.
