OFFICAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION

STP6 (Sugar Transport Protein 6) is a high-affinity proton/hexose symporter that primarily functions as a plasma membrane sugar transporter.

It is mainly expressed in pollen, where it plays a critical role in importing sugars like glucose and fructose to support late pollen maturation and pollen tube germination.
