TLDR; PROJECT SUMMARY AI BETA
This project explores how super-bright fluorescent proteins (like GFP) can grab onto rare earth elements (REE). These elements are super important for tech, energy, and medicine. By figuring out how these proteins bind to REE, we can make better ways to extract and clean them up.

Many studies show that supercharged variants of green fluorescent protein (GFP), yellow fluorescent protein (YFP), and cyan fluorescent protein (CYP) can have a strong binding with Rare Earth Elements (REE).
REE are a group of valuable metals with increasing importance in various industries, including electronics, renewable energy, and healthcare.
SFP that could achieve efficient binding are essential for the extraction and purification of REE.
Therefore, these projects aim to demonstrate the binding sites and binding mechanism of REE ions on supercharged variants of GFP/YFP/CFP.

Green fluorescent protein

They are called 'rare' because they are not as abundant as other metals, but they have unique magnetic and optical properties that make them essential for many modern technologies like smartphones, computers, and electric vehicles.
